Bass Chasin in Ohio report on Walborn Reservoir

This lake located off route 44 near the Hartville area is a nice one we don't get to fish often enough. They allow up to10 horse motors there. Several launch areas are available and one  is quite nice for those with bigger boats. Having fished it last year and having done well getting several nice sized bass we went back again this year. Due to work commitments we didn't launch till 4:00 in the afternoon. Hardly the best time to start the day, but better than no day on the water!

We only picked up three bass that were small but spoke with a guy who got a 3 pounder. Ours hit a four blade Strike King in white and the other two hit a bass imitation from their pro series and as always one on a firetiger Rattlin Rapala. I lost a biggie on a shad rap perch imitation. Still had him after he jumped but not for long. He must have been camera shy and he didn't get that big by being stupid!

Check this lake out, as it is worth the trip. Like my favorite Nimisila, it is known to give up some nice size northern Ohio bass. Tight lines!
