Bass Chasin in Ohio report for Leesville Lake
Thanks buddy for the tip!
Hello, I have received your E-mail, and you had said that Leesville is out of your range!?
I was just wandering if you have ever fished it or not? I began fishing Leesville about
4yrs. ago. On my first trip I was impressed right away. As usual my friend and I arrived
before daybreak and began the day with topwater lures. I was using a spittin' image, and
my buddy started with a buzzbait(uncle bucks-black). The bass on that trip seemed to
prefer the less noisy of the two. He caught a couple of 10-14" bass, but the action died
quickly with the buzz bait. On the other hand the bass were destroying my spittin'image!!
I literally had to go buy a new one just from that one trip! Not that all the bass were that
big it's just that the action was awesome! As the day progressed we both switched to
spinnerbaits(my all time favorite type of fishing lure)!! He used blue and chartruse while
I went with white. Both of us had used split-tail trailers before but I decided to try a
silver 3" grub as my trailer. I can't really say if that was the trick or not but the bass
seemed to think so! Needless to say the trip was a memorable one, especially for me! There are a couple of other trips I'd like to talk to you about, but.............. those are for another E-mail story!! As I had said previously your web site is great I am going to recommend it to a couple of my fishin' buddies,I'm sure they will enjoy it as much as I do!! Sincerely, Leesville basser.
