No depth finder?

No? Don't be to sure. The depth ratings are on many of the packages from those who manufacture the lures  and come with depth ratings! Those who do not, you can find depth ratings, from many of the better catalogs such as Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops. Just remember to make some kind of log of depths they run at or use a marker to mark you tackle box compartments. Alcohol will remove most markings, if need be, as you change compartments or lose and replace lures. If you don't mark em you can bet you sure as heck  you won't remember even if you don't carry a lot of gear or rods .Even if you run a finder it still does not hurt!
